Arnaud de Lie raised to 3 victories this season. The Lotto-Dstny Belgian talent lifted again his ends in a stage that had a lot of attacks during the last 2 climbs and ended in a selective sprint.

"The first two of the season were very good, but this one was even better. The last lap was very physical, I tried to be clever because I was the only one in my team. My teammates did a great job before to come back in the first group. And as soon as I saw a hole on the right, I went for it", stated De Lie to DirectVelo.

De Lie resisted to a good a mouth of attacks that happened on the last 2 climbs, specially the 1st one that was harder. The 20 years old sprinter even lost the contact with the attack groups in some occasions, but he always managed to return. And despite having a clear chance to win his main objective was to keep the leader's jersey.

"In the climb, I knew that I had to give it my all not to lose the jersey. In my head, I said to myself "you are really strong, and you have the jersey, you have to go for it". I switched to the first group, I told myself that it could be done. I wasn't necessarily thinking about the victory but above all about the jersey. Then the planets were well aligned as there was no AG2R, so we came back, and I won, so it was a double victory!", he said.

But tomorrow will be a different stage with a very different profile, it will end on a top Mountain finish too hard for De Lie to keep his leader's jersey. He knows that, but he wants to test himself and sees that has a train for the next races of the season.

"I have to prepare myself psychologically to suffer. I'm going to do it flat out to test myself, and if I don't lose more than 1'30 minutes I'll be happy. It was already hard today, but tomorrow it will be even harder. I wouldn't mind if it was very hard straight away. Because the harder it is, the more resistance it is. And when people talk to me about resistance… I like it", De Lie ended.
