Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling took the team classification of the
Vuelta CV Feminas 2024 and Cedrine Kerbaol, the French time trial champion, won the race in outstanding style.
Kerbaol broke away from a breakaway group 10 kilometers before the finish and rode to the end of the race practically single-handedly, in the style of a time trial champion, far ahead of her direct pursuers Marit Raaijmakers and Federica Piergiovanni.
After the race, Kerbaol expressed her delight about the victory and also about the team's performance in a team press release. "The girls did a big job to make sure we were in the best position going into the second climb, and when we got there I just thought 'Ok, ride tempo... don't look back'. Three kilometres later I did look, and I saw four or five girls with me. Then when I looked again, there were just two... so then we had to take it to the finish. The other riders in the breakaway rode really well, but they were unlucky to crash and I ended up solo."
"A victory like this proves we have a really nice collective, a super team and it really is a team victory today. They were as happy as I am, and with this team spirit it makes me even happier," she added about the team title win.
