Cedrine Kerbaol from the German team Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling won the Vuelta CV Feminas single-handedly.
For a long time, the French time trial champion was part of a small breakaway group that held a lead of just under half a minute as they headed towards the finish in the final 10 kilometers. When one of the riders fell shortly afterwards, Kerbaol took advantage of this to break away.
The peloton, which was divided in the chase, started a push with Olivia Baril from the Movistar Team and Federica Piergiovanni from the UAE Development Team, among others, but without any consequences. However, when Marta Lach, a teammate of Kerbaol and favorite for a final sprint, fell far behind after crashing in a bend with 3 kilometers to go, Cedrine Kerbaol turned up the heat once again.
In the manner of a time trial champion, she won by a wide margin ahead of Marit Raaijmakers from Human Powered Health and Federica Piergiovanni, who secured third place. Fifth place also went to Arianna Fidanza, a rider from the German team Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling.
