Giro Donne announce €250.000 total prize money for 2022 edition

Race organizers PMG Sports have announced recently that they will be increasing the prize money available at the Giro d'Italia Donne, to a total that will match the Tour de France Femmes at €250.000.

In the current effort that's ongoing to boost women's cycling, this is a very welcomed evolution if delivered. Most importantly, the PMG Sports have also promised 2 hours of daily live footage which would tremendously boost the sponsorship exposure of all teams present and can benefit the long-term stability of the peloton. This increase comes as five times the prize money of last year, which totaled at €50.000.

The race will take place from the 30th of June until the 10th of July this year and will take the peloton through ten stages throughout Italy, colliding though with the Tour de France which is not a positive aspect for the race's viewership.
