The points classification was won by Jasper Philipsen, a worthy winner of the green jersey after being the strongest figure in the bunch sprints throughout the race.
Adam Yates was the first bearer of green with his stage win on day one, and Victor Lafay took over the classification on stage 2 having won in San Sebastián - which he then kept the following day. On stage 4 Jasper Philipsen took over the jersey definitely after winning the bunch sprints on stages 3 and 4. The Belgian then won stage 7 in what was the third bunch sprint, and finally stage 11. The Belgian also got a second place on stages 8 and 20, as well as finishing fourth on stages 18 and 19 where breakaways took the glory on the day. He was for half of the race isolated in the lead with no rider having hopes of reaching him, but Mads Pedersen and Bryan Coquard's consistency earned him second and third.
