Final round of Tour de France mass testing leads to inconclusive results

As was the case in the second rest day in the Alps, no positive Covid-19 results were found within the mandatory mass testing taking place at the race, when it comes to the riders.

The UCI has issued a press release this morning regarding the testing campaign, confirming that "all tests were negative, with the exception of two riders for whom complementary biological examination is required".

Although not concluded to be positive tests, it has been informed that both riders would have been isolated and put through further testing in order to conclusively confirm if the riders are currently infected - and if they are contagious, which is a topic of much controversy within the race.

Throughout the race there have been several riders abandoning with the virus, most noticeably the likes of Guillaume Martin, Magnus Cort Nielsen and Ruben Guerreiro.
