UAE Team Emirates, despite the absence of Juan Ayuso, goes to Volta a Catalunya with a very strong squad. João Almeida finished second in Tirreno-Adriatico and now the Portuguese ambitions to secure another great result this time in Volta a Catalunya race where he previously finished in the 3rd place.

"I am very much looking forward to this race. It will be a tough week, which is typical for Catalunya. I hope to be with the best. We have a very strong team and several cards to play, but the goal is to fight for stage wins and the overall classification", said Almeida in the press conference.

With the likes of Adam Yates, Marc Soler, George Bennett, and Rafal Majka, UAE Team Emirates is a team that at the same time can win stages and secure a good general classification result, even winning it as Almeida stated. The race is not strange for Almeida who going to race it for the third consecutive time, always securing good results with a 7th in 2021 and a 3rd in 2022.

Now the aim is to improve this result and with this team, he can surely do it. Watch out also for Adam Yates who can also go for the GC, and we can expect to see Marc Soler launching earlier attacks, being in breakaways, and fighting for stage wins in his native stage race.
