Egan Bernal was a last-minute absence from the Tour of Norway, and has then changed plans to race the Criterium du Dauphiné. After showing form and consistency throughout the past month, this may be the biggest sign yet that he will be racing the Tour de France.
Although not confirmed, in Norway he was racing alongside a block that is expected to be present at the Vuelta a Espana. Here he teams up with Daniel Martínez and Carlos Rodríguez who will certainly be targeting the overall classification at the Grand Boucle, alongside Jonathan Castroviejo and Omar Fraile who were given as certainties to be having domestique role in France over the coming month.
The team hence has three options for the Dauphiné which starts this Sunday, in what will be an important test just under a month away from the Tour. The trio will face the likes of Jonas Vingegaard, Mikel Landa, Enric Mas, David Gaudu and many more who will be testing their form after over a month away from competition.
The lineup is concluded by Ethan Hayter who will certainly be hunting stages in the hilly days and the sprints, and Ben Turner who besides having chances to hunt breakaway wins, will also be playing a supporting role throughout the mountainous week.
