Dylan van Baarle fully recovered and ready to defend Paris-Roubaix title

After crashing out of the E3 Saxo Classic, Dylan van Baarle was forced to miss the Tour of Flanders due to an illness. Now though, fully recovered and determined to defend his title, van Baarle will return at Paris-Roubaix.

His victory on the French cobbles last year, came while van Baarle was still riding in the colours of INEOS Grenadiers and was a major disappointment to his current employers Jumbo-Visma as his now teammate Wout van Aert was forced to settle for second place.

Jumbo-Visma have AD that the 30-year-old Dutchman will be back to hopefully retain his title, this time in yellow and black. “The complaints after the crash were quickly over. But last Sunday night I got so sick, I had a stomach bug and just sat on the toilet. It was impossible to get to a good level, so we decided to pull the plug on the Tour of Flanders," van Baarle says.

"I've made good days since the weekend, so I'm completely fit again," which will no doubt worry all those in the peloton who harbour hopes of taking the victory from Jumbo-Visma on the 9th of April.
