Lorena Wiebes is edging ever closer to a landmark 100th pro win. The European champion celebrated the 97th victory of her career on Tuesday afternoon at Le Samyn des Dames 2025, sprinting to glory by a bike length in a dominant performance.
Perhaps in part related to the incredible scenes at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad WE over the weekend, the peloton didn't allow any breakaway to form in this race. As such, a pretty full peloton headed into the final lap together. Even on the cobbles of the final lap, only an attack by Eugenia Bujak managed to get any separation at the front, although she too had been swallowed up heading into the final 7km.
As a result of this intense chasing of any attacks, the expected sprint finish transpired in Dour. Once the sprints opened though, any drama was quickly over as Team SD Worx - Protime's European champion Lorena Wiebes stormed to a dominant victory ahead of Lara Gillespie and Linda Zanetti.
