The overall classification of
Paris-Nice has been playing out since day 1, but tomorrow's team time-trial will be very important to set early differences.
Tadej Pogacar is looking forward to this day which features a special format.
“I did my very best in the sprint. Now I can work towards tomorrow more relaxed, because it will be a very tough team time trial. We have a little more confidence now," the
UAE Team Emirates rider said after the stage. His efforts earned him another 6 seconds as he sprinted at the intermediate point close to the end.
Now, 12 seconds ahead of his GC rivals, he enters the first crucial day of the race ahead. However the 32-kilometer stage favours Jumbo-Visma who come with a very strong collective for the discipline.
“Special rules or regular rules… I haven't done many team time trials in my life. Only two, of which only one in the pros. I don't know what to expect really, but I'm looking forward to it. We go for it 100 percent. Do we have a tactic? Yes, full throttle!” he laughed.
Although it took some effort, Pogacar has already taken 12 seconds on the competition. In such a tough race though he's asked if they will matter. “It can be very important, but it is also possible that it doesn't matter in the end. You never know. But in modern cycling, every second usually counts," he concluded.
