Jhojan García and Yesid Albeiro Pira will no longer ride for Caja Rural – Seguros RGA in 2024. The two Colombians are leaving the team, the Spanish formation reports on social media.
The 25-year-old García joined Caja Rural-Seguros RGA in 2020. That same year he managed to successfully complete the Vuelta a España. However, his best season with the ProTeam was 2021, when he finished fourth in both the Tour de Hongrie and the Tour of Turkey. However the past two years were a swan song for García.
Pira (24) joined Caja Rural-Seguros RGA as a trainee in August 2021 after finishing fifth in the Vuelta a Colombia. He then signed a two-year contract. His most striking result during his time with the Spanish team was a twelfth place in the final classification of this year's Volta a Portugal.
With Julen Amezqueta as well as the two Colombians leaving, it remains to be seen if there are any reinforcements coming for the climbing district of Caja Rural for next seasons.
