Cofidis bring eight stage-winner candidates for ambitious Tour de France stage win hunt

Cofidis have announced their lineup for the Tour de France and they have spared no effort in taking a very strong lineup for the Grand Boucle, with the ultimate goal of taking a stage win which can happen in every terrain.

The team will not be carrying ambitions for the overall classification, although Guillaume Martin is an ever-present figure in the mountains. Martin will be joined by Ion Izagirre and Simon Geschke who will be eyeing the high mountain stages with the goal of bringing a stage from a breakaway,

In the hilly days the team will be able to count on Victor Lafay who has been impressing this year on the explosive hilltop finishes, Benjamin Thomas who has won Étoile de Bessèges and Anthony Perez - winner of the Classique Loire Atlantique - who can all thrive in the hilly days.

Bryan Coquard can too, as he will be an option for some hilly days, but mostly the rolling sprint stages. The 30-year old has been ever-consistent this season and will be a good card to play. For the pan-flat sprints Max Walscheid is another card, he who will likely be aiming at the cobbled stage and breakaways in the closing weeks of the race.

Team Cofidis for Tour de France: Bryan Coquard, Simon Geschke, Ion Izagirre, Victor Lafay, Guillaume Martin, Anthony Perez, Benjamin Thomas and Max Walscheid.
