As the Ronde van Drenthe draws near this weekend, the Drentse Acht van Westerveld provides another opportunity for the women's peloton to have a battle out on Dutch roads. Team SD Worx took another strong win as today Christine Majerus was the strongest.
The race came down to a four-rider sprint in the end of the 134.2-kilometer long race, and Majerus outsprinted Alison Jackson and Floortje Mackaij who completed the podium, with Thalita de Jong finishing fourth.
Majerus said at the finish: "We decided to attack on the smaller laps and the first breakaway was the right one. I'm very glad I could pull it off."
