Israel - Premier Tech have revealed their lineup for the upcoming Tour de France, as they seek out stage wins and a possible tilt at the overall classification with a team oriented to the mountainous terrain.
The team who currently sits in last position out of the UCI points ranking is in need to perform, and they are going to the Tour de France with a very strong team in search of wins. On the helm will be Jakob Fuglsang, winner of the Mercan'Tour Classic and third at the Tour de Suisse recently and Michael Woods who's taken a confident win at La Route d'Occitanie. However, the team has further weapons.
Chris Froome abandoned the Critérium du Dauphiné sick, however he will inevitably bring a lot of exposure for the team, and has shown positive signs of improvement in the last few months. Training partner Omer Goldstein will also be present in the lineup, making for the team's Israeli presence.
The team is then rounded out by a strong mix of stage-hunters. Daryl Impey has just returned to his winning ways with a surprise win at the Tour de Suisse, Simon Clarke has put on strong performances earlier in the year and both will be options for the hilly stages.
Furthermore, they have been somewhat hindered at the Tour de Suisse due to their domestique duties, but the team is rounded by Krists Neilands, and Hugo Houle who has finished the race in 15th place despite the sacrifice he had to put on.
Team DS Kjell Carlström said that "in this Tour, the main priority for us is to win a stage... We have a strong squad racing in this year’s Tour de France. Our star riders are on top form and I am hoping for important stage victories".
