"Certainly for Milano-Sanremo and the other classics this will play a role" - Tom Boonen unsure if Tadej Pogacar's aggressive stance won't fire back

Tom Boonen has been a watchful eye on what is happening in the opening races of the 2023 cycling season. The Belgian cycling legend is an outspoken critic of the riders that give all in all races, and the attitude the classic riders have been showing on Tirreno-Adriatico appeases him.

On the opposite side, Tadej Pogačar has been on fire in Paris-Nice, being active in all stages, a move that Boonen deploy criticizes. "Until the end of the race he will fight with Vingegaard for every second. Certainly for Milano-Sanremo and the other classics this will play a role", the Belgian said.

The Slovenian has taken over the lead of Paris-Nice after a very aggressive start to the race, where on every single day he's raced to capture bonifications. Heading into the decisive weekend, he has a small gap over David Gaudu, whilst Jonas Vingegaard sits third in the GC standings.
