Jay Vine had a tremendous season start in Tour Down Under. The Australian rider from the
UAE Team Emirates made a dominant performance in that race, leading the UCI World Tour ranking in the month of January.
Due to that, he was going to UAE Tour with high expectations but sadly an injury during the race made him DNF.
"After three weeks of yes-no, I can now cycle again. I have already done some simple indoor training, along with extensive physiotherapy. Hopefully, by the end of this week, I will be able to train outside again. We will keep an eye on how the knee is doing, and hopefully, I can soon announce when I can and will race again. Right now, I'm focusing on the injury", said Vine about his injury in an Instagram post on his page.
The injury stopped his momentum, and we haven't heard about Vine for a while. However now he has put light on the situation revealing that he is recovering and looking forward to competing again.
"The worst is now behind us, allowing us to look ahead again to what we hope will be a magical spring", concluded Vine who is aiming at the Giro d'Italia later this year and may return to competition at the Volta a Catalunya.
