On a chaotic day packed with plenty of crashes this Wednesday at Nokere Koere 2024, INEOS Grenadiers' German talent, Kim Heiduk was one of those to go down.
In a scary incident that also involved Lidl-Trek's Daan Hoole, Heiduk lost his front wheel, sliding off the road and down a river bank into a stream of water, narrowly missing a stone wall that could have made things much worse.
Although, as mentioned, that stone wall was narrowly avoided, Heiduk did not escape the crash injury free as an update from the INEOS Grenadiers official social media page explains.
"Unfortunately Kim Heiduk came down in a crash during yesterday's Nokere Koerse. Checks revealed the German has sustained fractures to both his collarbone and elbow," the statement reads. "He will receive full support from our medical team and we wish Kim a speedy recovery.
