B&B Hotels-KTM have secured one of their leaders for the coming years, as Luca Mozzato was signed on a three-year contract that is set to end in 2025 and provide the team with a base to build the team around.
“I extended before the start of the Tour because it was important to start this event by being 100% focused on the athlete. The team and I are united by a real relationship of trust, that suits me perfectly and I have no reason to change," Mozzato admited in a press release. Having joined the team in 2020, the 24-year old has became a leader and a rider perfectly suited for the French team's domestic calendar which is rich in flat and hilly races where he has taken several high-quality results over the last few years.
Although yet to take his first pro win, Mozzato has podium at the Nokere Koerse, Tro Bro-Léon and the Marcel Kint Classic. Mostly, it's his consistency that brings him to a high level, inside the Top100 of the UCI ranking just ahead of names such as Fernando Gaviria and Tom Pidcock. He has finished four times in the Top10 already in this Tour de France, with a sixth place in Calais being his top result.
"Here, I feel good and have everything I need to keep growing. My calendar is getting richer and richer, I have access to the events that make me dream and, over the seasons, I am more and more solid on the profiles that suit me," he concluded.
