Bahrain - Victorious have recently announced several riders who were departing the team into the 2026 season, but it did not feature several names that had not yet had a public contract for the upcoming years. Amongst those were
Matej Mohoric and
Damiano Caruso, who are now confirmed to stay with the team in the future.
The Bahraini team has signed Caruso and Rainer Kepplinger for one more season, boosting its mountain abilities. Caruso specially is a key part of the team for several years already, being Antonio Tiberi's right-hand man, a very good figure to help the young developing climbers in the team who look to perform in the Grand Tours, but he himself still being a very successful rider.
Besides finishing second at the 2021 Giro d'Italia, Caruso has also finished fifth in this year's edition, despite being Tiberi's support rider all the way up until the end of the second week of the race where the youngster crashed and began to lose his form. Caruso also won a stage at the Vuelta a Burgos and continues to perform near the top despite the increasing level in the peloton.
For another two years, the team has renewed with Robert Stannard, Faran Miholjevic and Matej Mohoric. The latter, despite the good relationship with the team, was under rumours of a potential departure to the lengthy announcement of a renewal - unusual for a rider of his calliber.
Mostly also because of the Slovenian's difficult season, in which he didn't manage to take many meaningful results during the spring and Tour de France - he was third however in the final stage to Paris, and fifth at the GP de Québec. He finished the season with a third place at the Gravel World Championships, but the former under-23 World Champion will have two more years with the team to fight for top results.
