Bahrain reveal strong leading trio in search of wins in Canadian classics

Bahrain - Victorious have developed a strong hilly classics team over the last few years, and they will bring serious firepower over to Canada where they will have a very strong lineup including several contenders for both races.

Pello Bilbao, who will end his season this weekend, has recently won the final stage of the Deutschland Tour, and has taken several wins earlier this year in similar profiles. His sprinting ability has increased, and combined with his already sharp climbing and descending skills will make him a dangerous rider. Jan Tratnik, who has also taken a leap this year, was close to the win this past week at the Bretagne Classic, with Wout van Aert himself having to close down on the Slovenian.

There will be three Slovenians at the start, with Matevz Govekar and Matej Mohoric joining, the latter a big favourite in his best form, however questions still lie following a difficult Tour de France where he was affected by illness. Damiano Caruso, who also rode the Tour de France, can be an outside specially for Montréal which is more climber-suited. The team is completed by Jonathan Milan who will be an outsider for Québec following great performances in August, and Hermann Pernsteiner.

Bahrain - Victorious for GP du Québec and GP du Montréal: Pello Bilbao, Damiano Caruso, Matevz Govekar, Jonathan Milan, Matej Mohoric, Hermann Pernsteriner and Jan Tratnik.
