"At the end, we settled on an amount that satisfied both parties" - Cian Uijtdebroeks' agent Alex Carera talks about the negotiations

It's official since Thursday evening: Cian Uijtdebroeks will leave BORA-hansgrohe and join Team Visma | Lease a Bike, with which he is committed until 2027! It was an official press release issued by the German team which put an end to this burning issue and which occupied a large part of the cycling news for a fortnight.

Behind this resounding transfer of one of the most promising young riders in the peloton, we find Alex Carera, the new agent of Cian Uijtdebroeks. "The contract was signed on Thursday around 2 p.m.," he told Cyclism'Actu. Carera also represents Tadej Pogacar, among others.

"There was a very important meeting this week between the two teams, their lawyers and myself. We talked a lot at that time, and Thursday morning, Ralph Denk, Richard Plugge and I had another meeting. At the end of it, we settled on an amount that satisfied both parties. I think it is the best thing for everyone. If it's my best shot? It's a big day for me because my job is to do the best possible for my rider," concludes Alex Carera.

A tripartite agreement was concluded this Thursday and the UCI had approved this agreement. This means that the contract between Cian Uijtdebroeks and BORA-hansgrohe will be terminated by mutual agreement on December 31, 2023. "BORA-hansgrohe wishes Cian Uijtdebroeks good luck for the next stage of his career," the press release reads.
