It was reported only yesterday that Astana Qazaqstan Team is getting ready to send a transfer proposal to Aleksandr Vlasov, but after more communication it is now also understood that BORA - hansgrohe is looking to renew with it's rider.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday the Kazakh team's intentions to re-sign Vlasov after three years at BORA - hansgrohe. The Italian news outlet has since talked with a source close to the Russian climber who argues that the German team is looking to keep the climber and is also ready to re-sign him soon.
Reportedly, a deal is 'almost done'. After his performance at Paris-Nice, where he won the uphill summit finish to the Madone d'Utelle and a strong performance on the final day which saw him rise to fifth place in the GC, the interest in him has risen.
In Astana he would be a strong leader, but the 27-year old already finds some freedom with BORA - hansgrohe, and will be racing the Tour de France later in the year - likely in support of Primoz Roglic, but that was certainly not the case at Paris-Nice following the Slovenian's lack of the usual kick he had in previous years.
