The eighth stage of the Giro d'Italia between Terni and Fossombrone features one climb at the start and four at the finish of a steep and beautiful course. Here's what Alberto Contador, Eurosport analyst, thinks about what could happen on the day:
"We're talking about a stage that's quite favorable for the breakaway, although it's also a good opportunity for the fast men, but I hope that the men in the breakaway will put a little more interest in it."
The rider from Madrid thinks that the peloton will have a hard time controlling everything that happens due to the steepness of the course and the numerous climbs. He doesn't expect anything from the general classification:
"We're talking about a race that will be difficult to control, it's a semi-classic, with 3 mountainous difficulties plus others that are not scoring, so we'll see who takes the victory."
