Team Jayco AlULA has had financial guarantees to survive into the 2026 season given only recently, to a point where it didn't deliver the paperwork for their World Tour license until after the designated date. This made it difficult for them to make big deals this winter, but now things are back on track. With it comes the renewal of three important riders.
All of them have been signed until 2027, two-year deals for three breakaway specialists and classics riders. One of them is Kelland O'Brien, who has had a breakthrough season finale with several impressive performances that made him a good bet for the Australian team.
“I’m super happy to continue my time with GreenEDGE. The team has big ambitions for the future and so do I, so it’s an exciting time looking towards to the next two years," the youngster said in a press release. The team certainly had these deals on the table for a long time, but were waiting until they had the financial means to put them on paper. Hence after the announcement of the signing of Finlay Pickering yesterday coming from Bahrain - Victorious, the team has now secured three more men towards the upcoming season.
German puncheur Felix Engelhardt is another: “I am very happy to stay with the team for another two years. I really have learnt a lot and grown a lot over the last three years in the team, and I very much feel at home. This is the perfect environment for me to keep on improving.”
Lastly, the team has secured Italian Davide De Pretto, who has also stood out over the past few years and has proven to be one of the best developing investments from the Australian outfit: “I’m quite happy with my season. The highlight was my first Grand Tour and I’m sure the Giro d’Italia experience will help me grow even further".
"I finished my second year as a professional on a high and I have to thank the team for the trust they have given me and will give me in the future.  I’m very proud to be part of the team, especially because I’ve found the ideal environment to improve. I hope to repay this trust by achieving the best possible results.”
