Starting the day in 6th position in the general classification, Aleksandr Vlasov looked set for a big week at the Giro d'Italia. Sadly though the 27-year-old has abandoned on stage 10 after feeling under the weather.
Being dropped very early on in the stage, Vlasov continued to battle on however it proved too much for one-half of a two-pronged BORA - hansgrohe attack and sadly for the Russian born rider, his dream of taking the Maglia Rosa is now over.

With numerous riders now having been forced to withdraw from the race due to illnesses, the horrible weather is taking a heavy toll on the peloton and with another disgustingly wet and cold day today on stage 10, you wonder if more riders will be under the weather in the coming days.
