The 2026 World Championships have seen Demi Vollering take the victory in Montréal, but not everyone finished the race. Caroline Andersson suffered a crash during the race and raised serious concerns over her health. The Swedish rider has now revealed her injuries.
The Liv AlUla Jayco rider was part of the Swedish team, looking to surprise during the race. Her race ended on a mass crash that left her unconscious on the road, raising concerns for other riders and spectators on TV. There were long hours until there was an update on the 25-year old rider.
In the meantime Andersson has provided an assurance of her health, and this Saturday has posted on Instagram, sharing an update on the consequences of the fall. They were quite severe, as Andersson wrote: "Season over. After the crash I sustained 4 brain bleeds, 2 facial fractures, a broken collarbone and a broken pelvis," Andersson said in an Instagram post.
The crash had a major influence in the race with the likes of Kim Le Court and reigning champion Magdeleine Vallières went down in the crash. The Swedish rider was the worst off from the group of riders that hit the deck. She has been stabilized in the meantime, but will carry the wounds of the fall for a long time.

Big thank you to the Swedish team for all the care and support, and to Julia — just for being my teammate through this. And thank you to everyone who has reached out, it means so much. I haven’t been able to answer all but I do appreciate itI’ll be back when I’m ready.
