- Last night we learned that Pogacar lost again for the Sportsman of the year award (the Laureus) to Alcaraz. Pogi with 3 monument wins, podiums in all five of them, Tour de France, World Champs, European Champs… what more does he need? Can a cyclist even win this award? Yes he can if you're American and your name is Lance Armstrong (the doper). I think cycling is just less relevant for the fvcking media if there are no Americans amongst them. Pogi is clearly one of the most dominant sports figures ever, where as Alcaraz isn't really coming close to Novak, Federer or Nadal. Not yet, maybe in the next 5 to 6 years, but not yet.
