It is possible that Pogacar could ride ride the Giro and attempt to win the double. Doing so will require a lot of planning & discipline for Pogacar. Tadej will have to ride much more strategically & not try and chase down every attack. You can sure that the Italian teams will try to tempt Tadej to waste his resources.22-10-2023 18:42

Piper has been a good coach. Pogacar needs someone to coach him or tactics & strategy if Piper has not already. If Pogacar hopes to win the TDF next year then tactics & strategy will be more critical than ever. Hopefully will be strong enough next year.22-10-2023 18:06

The idea that winning the double is not possible is a unfortunate myth that has spread. The double is doable. But it requires a lot of planning & discipline. Contador probably came the closest to winning the double in modern times. The problem is that he made a mistake by riding the Dauphine Libre after the Giro. Contador was already tired from the riding the Giro. But for some reason he decided to enter Dauphine Libre and lost the TDF as a result. There is always the temptation to chase down all the attacks in the Giro. Champion's such as Hinault or Indurain knew when to choose their attacks in Giro.24-07-2023 04:27

It so early in the season that he will not peak for the TDF. I do agree that Pogacar may not be at his best form as of yet. Paris-Nice will give a much better idea of how good Pogacar is.26-02-2023 17:25
