There's a big difference between the ordinary Internet reader and someone who's got a job and doesn't do it properly. Not knowing that a somewhat popular cycling podcaster regularly shares clips from non-recent interviews is not a big deal, but checking the interview date (and not misquoting Lemond) should be basic, mandatory verification.

In a recent interview? It's kind of foolish to take it for granted that if a clip has just been shared, then the whole interview has just taken place. The interview took place 2 years ago.
