They always attemted to make the Tour anti Froome but he still won anyway. If Pog is good enough he will also win whatever the course thrown at him and show that he is a great champion . If he dosn't then he is not good enough, no excuses. Having said that it is hard to see past him.31-10-2024 13:56

Seems like a good move. Rodriguez and Arensman have both struggled to improve so a new head coach with modern ideas might be able to help them.31-10-2024 12:56

There are a lot of very good young British cyclists in the WT and WWT at the moment and the track team is getting back to the top fast. INEOS are in a down phase but this happens to most teams at some point. They just need to get one or two top riders but the competition for their signatures is very tough. The loss of The Tour of Yorkshire was a blow as it was great racing and large crowds. The Tour of Britain tends to be too flat and predictable to attract the younger cyclists to watch. ITV is a loss but Discovery+ is not too restrictive price wise so if you love cycling you will have to fork out the cash I'm afraid. That's just the way things are nowadays. It's either the huge American conglomerates or Oil money which controls everything. I don't think the so called 'doping scandals' have anything to do with the downturn by the way.29-10-2024 11:20

Well he was great at his best but has struggled for the last few seasons. Good luck and best wishes to EV in whatever he chooses to do next.25-10-2024 17:25

Well they have to do something different as TP and JV will continue to dominate stage racing for the next few years. It is not the strongest squad in the World Tour by some distance but INEOS never got the best out of their riders in 2024. Changing the performance set up with quality people will inprove them in 2025.25-10-2024 13:29

Yes it is sad to see the greatest stage racer of his generation end his career like this. It's also sad that we are still being fed articles by Bruynell.23-10-2024 19:48

It is a very positive move for INEOS because they were lacking so much on the performance side and there is plenty of talent in this group of new arrivals. More changes are in the pipeline so I am not going to knock them but give them a chance to show what they can do. It won't make the team world beaters because you need the best riders to be that but it should make them more competitive in general and a stronger INEOS is good for cycling, otherwise who else is there to heap all the scorn on?23-10-2024 08:29
