Tim Merlier wins traditional De Panne beach race; Tim Declercq on the podium before leaving Soudal - Quick-Step

Beach racing is one of Belgium's most unique yet interesting types of racing. Over the off-season several pros take on these challenges and the De Panne race is one of the most popular. Soudal - Quick-Step made an appearance and took the victory with Tim Merlier.

Merlier was the fast on the day, beating Daan van Sintmaartensdijk, the winner of the 2021 edition. Meanwhile the 'tractor' Tim Declercq went on to finish third in one of his last appearances with the team's jersey before moving to Lidl-Trek. To note that the team has signed Belgian beach racing champion Jordi Warlop last winter into it's development team, who is making the jump to the elite structure into 2024.
