As announced by the Movistar Team on social media, Carlos Verona will be part of the Spanish team in the next Gravel World Championship. Another member of the 'telephone' squad, Hayley Simmonds, will also be part of the test, in her case representing Great Britain.
Verona earned the position by winning the Hutchinson Raxo event in Lleida recently. The women's event will take place on October 8 (140 km) and the men's on Sunday 9 (194 km). Before the World Championships, Verona will participate this coming week in the Grinduro (Germany).

It has not been a normal season for Carlos Verona, who after showing all his potential in the Dauphiné by winning a stage, then raced as a domestique in the Tour de France and in the Vuelta a España, having very little freedom to move in search of a win (he was third at Chatel les portes du Soleil in the ninth stage of the Grande Boucle). Now, with the Gravel World Championship, he has the opportunity to finish the season in style.
