Maybe it would have looked weird if Pog had just followed them both when he could have gone ahead to win? By leading Del Toro, at least he was doing something while not winning.

Del toro has worked 40 minutes for Del Toro while missing out of 2 stage wins and Del Toro would still have been in 3rd. He just needed to follow Sexias. Its just stupid tactics not teamwork

You do understand it's a TEAM sport !!! He was paying back to a teammate the work they did for him. He had nothing to gain by trying to win again.

I don’t think Tadej will be in the mix for a stage win tomorrow. Why would he take the chance unless the GC race is neutralized early. He can’t afford to get in a crash and lose his GC win. Just not worth the risk in my opinion.

I'm more surprised that Skjelmose performs better than him during this Tour. He tried too hard.

You've missed my point. I didn't defend UCI, nor Mauro. On contrary, I wonder if this attestation procedure could be abused in practice, and if there are active riders who use this approach, for a legitimate purpose or maybe not.
