- as for Remco lifting his bike, cycling is based on a sponsorship model. it is expected that these guys bow before their bikes, lift them, etc. there is no cycling w/o sponsorship, so they gotta do it.
Mathieu is amongst the best at what he does, which might be limited as a non-GC rider, but he is amazing at his specialties. hard one day races.
Tadej is w/o comparison. Yes, Eddy, won more races, but Tadej is on par with him for the big races. remove the track races and rando crits that Eddy did, and he does not have nearly 500 plus victories.
who is better, Eddy or Tadej? we’ll never know as they will never race each other.
but RDV is an a-hole for coming after riders like this. it is a small sport with a fragile financial model. they should be supporting each other and the next generation, not tearing it apart. what a dick.
- I’d still love to see it included, it could kick start cross elsewhere, as the Belgians and Dutch won’t be able to load up.
- I think he will excel with Bora and not wilt to the pressure, whether he beats Tadej or Jonas is a different story. I was just replying to the article stating the difference in the teams
- RDV must have held back his fart too many times. If you do that, that stuff travels up your spinal cord instead and into your brain, giving you shitty ideas.
- "He could genuinely become the ambassador for the sport’s inclusion in the Winter Olympics, as it deserves"
Delusional much? It's a 2 country sport, it does NOT belong in the Olympics
- Correction: Aerts won Euro title in 2016. Wyseure won bronze not Ronhaar.
- Very pleased for Toon Aerts. He missed so much time with the unfair ban. I love watching him race as you can see every bit of effort he puts into it.
- Pleased for Toon and a reward after the typical UCI selective doping bans, he gets done for things other folk get waivers far!!
- A fabulous race, Ronhaar was great against the wall of Dutch riders, Nys was never looking that great, and Aert winning does feel a bit odd, but he raced incredibly well and deserved the win.
- Go greed!
There are numerous ways to improve the sport's profits (and team budgets) that do not include charging admission for people to stand on the road they likely in part paid for. Eschewing these in favor of stripping people's rights for the purpose of funding race budgets cannot be much else than laziness or greed.
