The Portuguese national championships road race took place today in Mogadouro, northern Portugal where the country's emerging leader João Almeida as rode to his first Elite title on the road.
Almeida rode to the finish solo, taking an important win which will see him ride in the Portuguese colours alongside UAE Team Emirates for the next year. The podium was completed by young talents Tiago Antunes and Fábio Costa.
