The celebrity Turbo Cross in Diegem, organized by Average Rob, turned out to be a great success with more than 400.000 people watching online

Love it or hate it, but the Turbo Cross in Diegem was a great success. The online interest in the recreational competition organized by Average Rob was so great that the Sporza servers had difficulty keeping things running. And that in itself is a great achievement.

Following Bas Tietema, other well-known figures from any sector also decided to participate. For example, on December 28, national coach and ex-professional Sven Vanthourenhout, YouTuber Acid and ex-professional footballer Jelle Van Damme also made an appearance.

Ultimately, it was Vanthourenhout who, as expected, came out on top in the much-discussed race. He defeated former motocross rider Angelo De Clercq and former footballer Van Damme. "I had the feeling that I was the best cross-technically," he said afterwards. "I felt like I had it under control, even though the competition was tough."

And what about Tietema versus Rob? That battle was settled in favor of the Belgian, who crossed the finish line well before Tietema. The public response? Despite voices questioning the event, more than 400,000 others tuned in to the Sporza stream online to witness it with their own eyes. "Thank you all for watching," Rob expressed his gratitude on X.
