Cyclocross European Championships begin with a French win on the Team Relay event

The Cyclocross European Championships are being heavily affected by the weather. All events this Saturday have been postponed, but today the weather was relatively stable in Pontchâteau. The Team Relay event saw France take the win. 

With one rider of each: Women Junior, Men Junior, Women Under-23, Men Under-23, Women Elite and Men Elite. It is race where national teams must be well rounded. Many of the world's best were not present as they prepare for this Sunday's race. France was ultimately the strongest team, winning with 33 seconds over Great Britain and 1:07 minutes over Belgium. The Czech Republic and Italy completed the race and finished close behind.
