The Kigali
World Championships continue in Rwanda this Tuesday and in the two events of the day, the women's and men's junior time-trial races, the Dutch have been crowned victorious. After Megan Arens took gold in the morning for the young women, the youngster
Michiel Mouris proved to be the best out of the juniors who made the trip to East Africa.
This was the first race in which the gaps between the winner and second place were close and it was a tight finale. On the very last of the individual time-trial events we've had a close battle, and on the 22-kilometer course in the streets of Kigali Mouris set a time of 29:07 minutes which was enough to conquer him the world title, with four riders within 20 seconds of him.
It was a race where every kilometer mattered and the smallest of details might have made the difference. Mouris won by 7 seconds over America's
Ashlin Barry who is joining Team Visma | Lease a Bike's development ranks next season, and Belgium's Seff van Kerckhove by 9 seconds. Beckam Drake and Max Hinds of the United States and Great Britain completed the Top 5, 14 and 19 seconds behind.
