In his first mountain top finish since abandoning the Giro d'Italia,
Remco Evenepoel looked to be a bit rusty. Although he finished stage 3 of the
Tour de Suisse in 4th position, that doesn't tell the full story.
Attacking early-on on the final climb, Evenepoel was then joined and subsequently dropped by both
Mattias Skjelmose and
Felix Gall. "I slept well. We analysed the course again. I made a little too much hay. The riders in the wheel were able to take advantage of that a bit and therefore I had a bad moment. We won't make that mistake again this week. Although yesterday was more about testing myself anyway," he told Het Laatste Nieuws before the start of stage 4.
