"We will go day by day now and defend the general jersey as long as possible": Jesus Herrada aims to keep his leadership in Oman after winning stage 2 of the race

Jesus Herrada won the second stage of Tour of Oman. The Spanish rider of Team Cofidis is a well known finisher for this type of race stage ends and with a powerful attack he proved to be in good shape.

"I feel very good, I am very happy with this victory. We have a team in good shape in this Tour of Oman. Today, the final was good for me and the team did a great job. In the end, I gave everything to get this victory, for me and for the team", he said in the post race interview.

Herrada isn't foreign to the terrains in Tour of Oman since he already rode the race twice always finishing into the top 10. Now he gets the overall lead, and he looks forward to improving his record in this race.

"I knew the course a little bit, I already participated in 2019, so it's a real satisfaction to win here. We have achieved a first objective with a stage win. We will go day by day now and defend the general jersey as long as possible", Herrada stated.
