Giro d'Italia with Primoz Roglic, Tour de France with Jonas Vingegaard and
Vuelta a Espana with Sepp Kuss. Virtually, all three Grand Tours have been won by the same team in one season and with three different riders - who complete the full podium of the last one. It could've hardly ever been a more successful season for
Jumbo-Visma.
"This is unbelievable. I am so proud and happy. The plan was to go for the three Grand Tours anyway. But step by step: first everything on the Giro, then on the Tour… We never thought we would be able to achieve all those goals, but of course we wanted to. This is a historic moment," Plugge told Eurosport. With the trio crossing the line together in celebration in Guadarrama, it is the image of a race and a year that has given the Dutch team more success than it could even hope for.
