Vuelta a Espana 2024 GC Update after stage 12: Ben O'Connor ticks off another day closer to overall victory

Stage 12 of the 2024 Vuelta a Espana was all about the summit finish finale. In the end though, as the breakaway and Equipo Kern Pharma's Pablo Castrillo took the win on the day, the Red Jersey contenders kept their powder dry.
As such, Ben O'Connor retains a 3:16 lead over Primoz Roglic, with Enric Mas completing the podium after 12 stages, 3:58 down on the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team leader.
Further down the GC, Richard Carapaz and Mikel Landa complete the top-5, before the Best Young Rider Carlos Rodriguez in 6th ahead of his nearest White Jersey contender Florian Lipowitz, with Adam Yates, Felix Gall and George Bennett rounding out the top-10.
