The Volta a Portugal has started today with a short 5.4-kilometer long prologue in Lisbon, and the pre-stage favourite Rafael Reis has confirmed most people's expectations by taking the win and the first yellow jersey of the race.
The route didn't have space for surprises, with a pure out-and-back route giving the opportunity for the specialists to perform, and the Portuguese time-trial champion delivered. He beat Mauricio Moreira by over nine seconds, whilst Oliver Rees took the third place on the day.
