After day of drama at the 2023 Tour de France saw the sprinters denied the chance at victory in perhaps their penultimate potential win as Kasper Asgreen took a narrow victory from the breakaway.
Heading into the final kilometre, a leading quarter of Asgreen, Jonas Abrahamsen and Lotto Dstny duo Pascal Eenkhoorn and Victor Campenaerts held a minor advantage of under 10 seconds over the raging peloton. One humongous and ultimately sacrificial turn on the front of the break from Campenaerts though turned out to be decisive.
