Wout van Aert was not a happy man crossing the line in second place on stage 2 of the 2023 Tour de France. Having been unable to reel in the eventual winner Victor Lafay, Tadej Pogacar came home in third and post-race he was captured mocking van Aert's frustration.
Visibly thumping his handlebars in anger, van Aert cut a very frustrated figure. Pogacar must have seen this because as he was doing his post-stage warm down, cameras captured the Slovenian and the Maillot Jaune, Adam Yates laughing and mimicking the actions of van Aert. A shocked Eurosport analyst Adam Blythe commented "he's taking the mick out of Wout there!"
