Tadej Pogacar took this February Sunday to explore the route of the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. The World Champion shared himself on the course of the Belgian monument, but it was to the surprise of many that he was spotted at the Trouée d'Arenberg later in the afternoon by amateur riders - confirmed to CyclingUpToDate by a local source. We now have full confirmation as the World Champion himself shared.
It was confirmed to CyclingUpToDate by photographer Gaetan Flamme that the World Champion was seen riding in the area. Flamme had been working in a local cyclocross race, and shared the news on social media. Perhaps if it weren't for that, this trip across to France would've been kept a secret, as in the afternoon there wouldn't be many amateur cyclists in the area and as we can see, he was riding with winter gear that didn't make it clear at first glance that it was the World Champion himself.
But with the news out, perhaps there was no reason to keep it hidden. Pogacar shared a video recorded by teammate Tim Wellens of himself riding on the famous cobblestones of the Trouée d'Arenberg. Regardless if it happens or not, the UAE Team Emirates - XRG rider is giving the cycling world the single biggest tease for a potential 'Hell of the North' debut.
