In the pro ranks yesterday there was incredible amount of action, but within pro cycling there was a smaller race that has received attention for the worst reasons. At the Spanish Vuelta a Extremadura, footage has emerged of a spectator having her arm out, resulting in a collision of a rider mid-sprint.
"We want to make a call to the responsibility of the public so that accidents like the one experienced at the end of today's stage are not repeated," the organizers of the race shared on social media, alongside footage of the crash. "It is important to keep your distance and not invade the road at the pace of the race." From what is known, only one rider was involved, and luckily with minor injuries only.
