Stage 1 of the Vuelta a España is a day for the sprinters and without a very strong breakaway or unusual weather conditions, most riders in the peloton are being able to take it easy and enjoy the racing. The calm pace has also allowed the focus to be on non-racing moments, such as Gianmarco Garofoli's impressive on-the-bike shoe change.
The Soudal - Quick-Step rider was in need to changing one of his shoes and, always prepared, the Belgian team had a replacement in the team car for the Italian. Without a moment of hesitation he removed his shoe, gave it to his DS, and quickly received and put on his new one.
