Video | Sergio Higuita: "Cycling is of attacking and suffering"

Sergio Higuita has departed into today's final stage of the Volta a Catalunya with a small lead over Richard Carapaz, and is within reach of netting his first World Tour stage-race.

Asked how he felt at the start of today's stage by CyclingPro, he answered: "Well rested, very well. It's a bit early the stage but we're very happy with all the morale and mood, and with every strength to face this beautiful stage. If it's a good day we'll enjoy these 130 kilometers into Barcelona."

Fatigue is a question that stands after yesterday's 130-kilometer long attack together with Richard Carapaz. The two allies that have helped each other into success yesterday, will today be battling for the overall classification win between themselves.

Does Higuita expect to be attacked in the six laps through the Montjuic hill? He believes that will be the case: "Yes of course, it's a cycling race, cycling is of attacking and suffering, it´´'s a hard sport from beginning to end. But we'll enjoy which is the most important with my teammates and in the end we'll see."

Higuita will have the tough task of defending his narrow lead today in the hilly and treacherous Barcelona circuit. However, besides Richard Carapaz at 16 seconds, he should have relative comfort space to those behind due to yesterday's successful raid.
